Best shoes ever, February 6, 2012

I am a huge fan of Mephisto shoes! They are the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. I highly recommend good shoes and these are the best.

The “bump” is not a flaw. It is inherent to the AIR design. Not sure why the other reviewer had issue with it.

Excellent Everyday Comfort, April 2, 2011

I currently own six pair of these shoes, and have been wearing this brand/model for almost 10 years now. I wear them on land, not for marine use, and wear them every day, most of the day. I own so many so they can “rest” between wears. I moved to Mephisto when I started having problems with my feet, planter’s fasciitis. I use an insert, called SuperFeet, inside the shoes to help reposition the musscle and fatty tissue of my heel into a rounded area, rather than the formerly painful flat area. At one time, I was hobbled so badly I couldn’t go from the bedroom to the bathroom in bare feet because my feet felt so bad. Now, while I wear the Inserts inside my Mephistos during the day, I can easily walk across hard stone and wood floors barefoot without even thinking about it.

I consider my plantar’s fasciitis almost healed, due to Mephisto’s and SuperFeet. That’s a huge deal for someone who formerly had such pain and ongoing discomfort.

Unlike the “first” poster of a review on this site, I have never, ever, had any quality problems with Mephistos. To the contrary, I have found them to be very durable, exceedingly comfortable, and well made in every respect.

I expect to be a life-time customer of Mephisto.

    Major Disappointment, October 27, 2009

I was a long time fan of the Mephisto Brand, and decided to give them a try when they came out with this boat shoe. What a mistake it was. First, these shoes were too heavy and stuffy for the summer / boat use. However, the major problem came less than a year later, when the heels started to crumble then totally disintegrated. Mephisto does offer a service to resole any of their shoes. But they charge so much for this service now, that it’s practically useless. You can buy a new pair of much better boat shoes for half of the cost to resole this junk.
The name Mephisto definitely does not mean the same as it used to.
